Dancing Through Your Weight Loss Is The New TikTok Trend
Evelyn LaGrange celebrated her 107 kilogram weight loss in the very best way, by dancing to Ciara on TikTok.
The Texas mother-of-two has gone viral for her playful, uplifting videos documenting her extraordinary health journey.
Her most popular post has garnered more than half a million likes and thousands of comments praising Evelyn for her positivity and motivation.
In the video, she dances her way through a number of short clips as the weight gradually drops off her. Her TikTok followers have told Evelyn they adore that she's always smiling, no matter what stage she's at in her journey.
Last year, Evelyn weighed 225 kilograms. And by the end of the video she proudly declares that she's down to 104 kilograms - a 121 kilogram difference.
Evelyn was motivated to make a change when she was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation in 2017, a condition where brain tissue extends into the spinal canal that occurs when the skull is misshapen.
“The neurosurgeon said I would have to be under 200 pounds (90 kilograms) in order for me to have brain decompression surgery,” she told 'Health'. She desperately wants to improve her health for her children, who she often talks about in her TikToks.
Evelyn's own story is just one of the many inspiring health journeys being documented on TikTok.
Many are using the app to keep accountable in front of a growing, supportive audience. TikTokers have been posting a number of regular videos, typically of themselves exercising or dancing their way through their milestones.
Their audiences encourage them on their quest for better health, commenting and liking their videos to keep them motivated.
