This Juice May Be The Secret To Better Skin
It's cheap, it's easy and why didn't we know this before?
We've all tried the creams, the potions, the laser, the injections (and by we, we mean, well, yes okay, us) but now we find that -- actually -- what could help you have flawless skin is something you can find in the fridge.
Sometimes beauty can just be plain cruel.
Yes, it's celery. Or more specifically, celery juice.
You see, the plant -- a member of the parsley family and something you either love or hate -- is packed with natural substances that help purify the bloodstream, aid in digestion, and clear up skin problems.
Celery is 95 percent water, which, US nutritionist Kimberly Snyder told Vogue, is the important part. “When it comes to skin, hydration is key,” she said. It also has a high natural sodium content, which means it raises stomach acid, which helps break down food.
Right now, the world is talking about improving gut health and by doing whatever it does, celery can help with that too -- and while on its journey it's also lowering stress levels and brightening skin.
The magical drink is also loaded with vitamin A, which may positively affect hair, said Snyder, “providing nourishment to the roots while also stimulating growth and overall texture.”
It's literally a miracle on a stick. Is there nothing it can't do?
OK there is a downside (if you hate celery that is). While we're all happy to bung a bit in our weekend Bloody Marys , or chop one up to have with some dip, we really need to be drinking it as well. Sorry celery-haters
Snyder tells Vogue that this polarising plant has “powerful healing benefits” -- and suggests drinking a juice made with celery, pineapple and mint first thing in the morning will help your body absorb the maximum amount of nutrition possible.
You know what to do.
