Vegan Milo Is About To Hit Aussie Shelves

Truth be told there are some food pleasures vegans miss out on, but now Milo doesn’t have to be one of them.

A new plant-based Milo will be filling Aussie shelves this week, meaning our vegan mates will finally be able to weigh in on the age-old debate on just how many teaspoons are needed to prepare the perfect cup.

Nestlé Dairy Business Manager Anna Stewart said that with more Aussies turning to dairy alternatives, it was time for more Milo fans to be able to enjoy the taste of the iconic product.

“As we know people are looking for more plant-based products, it was time to look at how Milo could evolve to offer more options that don’t compromise on taste,” Stewart said.

Nestlé Australia is set to launch a new version of Milo with 30 percent less sugar than the original formula.

Milo Plant-Based uses the same core ingredients as the original – malt, barley and cocoa, but less sugar, no milk powder, and added plant-based ingredients from soy and oats.

It will be available at Coles stores nationwide from Monday... but our sources tell us there will be a few sneaky tins on some supermarket shelves even earlier.
