Padma Lakshmi Had To Remind A Magazine That She's Not Priyanka Chopra

Padma Lakshmi has called out a magazine for mixing her up with Priyanka Chopra.

The New Yorker was hosting a 'celebrity cartoon takeover' on its Instagram, allowing celebs to choose their favourite scribbles from the publication's archives.

The cartoons have been presented with clues about the star who chose the artwork. The magazine's followers can then swipe to reveal a picture of the famous face.

Author, model and U.S. 'Top Chef' host Padma Lakshmi was revealed as the celeb who selected a cartoon that showed a street vendor explaining the marination process of his hot dogs.

Florence Pugh Responds To Criticism Of Her Age Gap With Zach Braff

Florence Pugh has no time for fans who aren't cheering on her relationship with Zach Braff.

But instead of tagging or mentioning Lakshmi.

The Instagram account tagged another famous Indian-born celeb whose name begins with the letter P -- Priyanka Chopra!

"I know to some we all look alike, but 🤷🏾‍♀️... #desilife #justindianthings," Lakshmi wrote on Instagram.

Lakshmi's re-post of the gaffe attracted comments from celebs including Natalie Portman and Amanda de Cadenet who expressed their horror at the mixup.

"Oh no," Portman said.

"This is the equivalent of tagging Christina Aguilera in a photo of Britney Spears," wrote another Instagram follower.

Besides their shared Indian heritage, the pair really don't share similar features and there's also a 12-year age gap between the two.

The magazine has not apologised for the mix-up but the post has quietly disappeared from their Instagram page.

And despite all the Insta-tagging, Priyanka hasn't weighed in on the situation -- probably because she's busy sipping champagne on a beach somewhere with husband Nick Jonas.

Can't say we blame her!
