Liam Hemsworth 'Spending Time' With Isabel Lucas After Split With Miley Cyrus
Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus recently announced they were separating after just eight months of marriage.
And after photos of Miley surfaced kissing singer Kaitlynn Carter, a reported friend of Liam's has told Woman's Day they would like to see the actor move on.
The source claimed Liam and former 'Home and Away' star Isabel Lucas have been “spending some time together” while he's been in Byron Bay seeking comfort from his family and friends.
“Liam's in Byron staying with Chris. Isabel moves in the same social circles up there, and they've spent some time together,” an insider told the publication.
“They've become quite good friends. She's there to take his mind off things and she's been an excellent person to turn to for advice.”
Isabel previously dated Liam’s brother Chris in the early 2000s and is currently single. It’s been suggested friends are hopeful the 34-year-old and Liam’s friendship will blossom into a potential relationship.
It’s further been reported that his parents would like to see Liam with someone who is one the same page and shares the same interests, such as an “an Aussie who loves the ocean, is a bit more mature and socially aware. Isabel ticks a lot of those boxes,” the source adds.
Liam previously responded to the news of his split in detail over Instagram. Posting a snap of a beach sunset, he wrote:
“Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.”
He went on to explain that their split was a “private matter” and that he will not “be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets.”
“Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love,” he concluded.
While Miley has been enjoying a vacation on Lake Como in Italy with pal Kaitlynn Carter, Liam has been keeping a low profile with his family in Byron Bay.
Liam was photographed heading into town to pick up some frozen yoghurt with his brother Chris Hemsworth and the 'Thor' star's three children.
Reporters from Daily Mail Australia asked the 'Hunger Games' actor about his high-profile split with Miley, who Liam tied the knot with on Christmas 2018.
"You don't understand what it's like," Liam reportedly said. "I don't want to talk about it, mate".
Liam's response sits in stark contrast to Miley's approach to the breakup with the "Cattitude" singer posting regularly on Instagram since the couple posted a joint statement about their separation.
After her multitude of snaps from Lake Como, Miley uploaded photos from atop a mountain and cryptically explained that "change is inevitable".
Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of , which was once under water , connected with Africa , change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed.
The singer even hit out at Brody Jenner after 'The Hills' star joked about holding hands with Liam on Instagram, a dig at Miley for reportedly getting close to his ex-wife, Kaitlynn.
Miley and Kaitlynn were photographed by paparazzi kissing on a yacht in Italy as they celebrated their so-called 'Hot Girl Summer'.
"@brodyjenner go take a nap in your truck and cool off #HotGirlSummer," Miley wrote to Jenner, with the emoji of two girls dancing wearing bunny ears.
Just last month, Cyrus revealed she is still "very attracted to women", despite her marriage to Liam. She also admitted that she doesn't want kids until the state of our planet and the environment improves.
Cyrus and Hemsworth met on the set of The Last Song back in 2009 and were on-again-off-again for years before Hemsworth proposed in 2012.
They split again in 2015 but three years later, Cyrus surprised followers when she posted Instagram shots of their wedding ceremony at her home in Tennessee.
