YouTuber JoJo Siwa's Makeup Recalled Over 'Dangerous Levels' Of Asbestos
Singer JoJo Siwa's makeup kits have been cleared off shelves in the US.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a safety alert warning consumers not to use the makeup set released by the 16-year-old Siwa after testing found samples were contaminated with asbestos fibres.
The JoJo kits include lip gloss, eyeshadow and nail polish and were on sale at tween accessory store Claire's, which has removed the products from shelves across the United States, People reports.
Asbestos -- a known carcinogen -- is usually found in cement sheeting, drainage pipes and roofing so it's unclear how the hell it ended up in a makeup kit marketed at pre-teens.
JoJo has nearly 10 million subscribers on YouTube but hasn't yet put out a warning about the dangerous kits to any of her followers on social media.
In recent years the teenager has become known for her love of bows, her daily vlogs, bubblegum pop singles including "Bop" and "Kid In A Candy Store" and her one-sided feud with Justin Bieber.
After JoJo showed off her custom BMW spray painted with her own face on the hood, Bieber softly told her to "burn it" in the comments which resulted in a series of exhausting Biebs-related stunts from JoJo's end.
We're not suggesting that Justin has the access, or the time, to be sprinkling asbestos into JoJo kits across North America but we are VERY concerned about another celebrity in JoJo's orbit -- North West.
Siwa had better pray that one of those gifts wasn't an asbestos-laced makeup palette because she might herself with a new enemy much more powerful than Justin Bieber.
