Zara Tindall Tells Of Second Tragic Miscarriage

Sad times for the royal family.

The Queen's granddaughter and cousin to William and Harry, Zara Tindall made an emotional admission in the UK's Sunday Times on the weekend, revealing that she had a second miscarriage before the birth of baby daughter Lena last month.

Zara spoke candidly about the miscarriage , adding that she did not want to speak about it at first because it was "too raw." She told the Times: "I... had another miscarriage really early on. You need to go through a period where you don't talk about it because it's too raw, but, as with everything, time's a great healer."

She has previously spoken about her first miscarriage, which happened at the start of her second pregnancy in 2016, saying that it was the outreaching of the general public that helped her through. She said: "I had a miscarriage in 2016 and afterwards loads of people wrote to me and (husband) Mike to say they'd been through the same thing." "For me, the worst thing was that we had to tell everyone -- everyone we knew." She added: "It was a time when my family came to the fore and I needed them. I had to go through having the baby because it was so far along."

This second loss was slightly easier, she said, because the pregnancy wasn't so far along . “I think a lot of the time you’re lucky if it happens a lot earlier,” she said. “It’s something a lot of families are affected by but then, hopefully, a lot of the stories I’ve heard, they’ve gone on and had more children and they’re very lucky.” Zara and Mike have two daughters -- Mia who was born in 2014 and new baby Lena.
