Prince Louis' Official Christening Photos Are Here And They're Adorable
And even Prince George is on his best behaviour!
In all the excitement over what Kate and Meghan wore to Wimbledon, we had almost forgotten that there had been a royal christening, so imagine our delight when the official photos popped up in our Instagram feed this morning.
And we were even more delighted when we realised how actually cute they were, and how happy everyone looked in the photos -- including his royal grumpiness, Prince George.
The photos were taken after the ceremony on July 9 at St James’s Palace in London, in the Morning Room at Clarence House, and feature Louis, still blissfully unaware of what is going on, and still wearing the replica of the royal christening robe.
In one of the most stunning shots, the Cambridge family pose with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for the photos, along with William and Harry's dad, Prince Charles, and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, while there are also gorgeous snaps of the little family alone and the whole tribe complete with the extended Middleton family. A further photo shows a solo Kate gazing at her adorable two-month old son.
The three photos which feature George and Charlotte are seriously delightful -- a) because they look so grown up and b) because cuteness.
In one, the usually taciturn George even actually grins for the camera. We know, right?
The talented snapper behind the lens, Matt Holyoak spoke about the joy he felt when taking the photographs: "I was truly honoured at being asked to take the official photographs at the christening of Prince Louis, and to witness at first hand such a happy event."
"Everyone was so relaxed and in such good spirits, it was an absolute pleasure. I only hope I have captured some of that joy in my photographs."
Oh you have, Matt. And then some.
