Harry And Meghan Make A Surprise Polo Appearance
It was a star-studded affair.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken some much-needed time out from their royal duties to attend the Audi Polo Challenge in Ascot, a charity polo match that Harry was also taking part in.
While the news of their attendance was somewhat of a surprise for us mere folk, it only added to the glitz and glamour of the already star-studded guest list for the series, which included celebrities such as Tom Holland, Eddie Redmayne, and Susan Sarandon.
Sporting a breezy Shoshanna Gruss dress that hit just below the knee, the 36-year-old looked effortlessly chic on day one. She paired the summery sleeveless look with open-toed sandals (reportedly Sarah Flint), a fedora and dark sunnies.
The Duchess was also in good company on the day to cheer on hubby Harry. Accompanying her was gal pal Serena Williams with her husband Alexis Ohanian, who were both in attendance at Meghan and Harry's wedding in May.
Meghan's sister-in-law Kate Middleton and her three children, however, were not in attendance.
Aptly dressed in their polo shirts, white pants and boots, both Harry and his brother Will played in the polo match to support their favourite charities. Coincidentally, day one of the event on Saturday was also a day shy of their late mother Diana's birthday.
The royal brothers delighted polo fans as their took to the turf at the Coworth Park Polo Club and battled it out. After wowing crowds, Harry even came back the following day for more charitable action. Will is believed to have celebrated his late mother's birthday privately at home.
On day two, the Duchess of Sussex sported a more understated look, wearing black skinny jeans with an oversized white shirt. She also chose to leave her high heels at home and instead opted for a simple pair of black ballet flats -- no doubt a more comfortable option for navigating the grassy fields.
The fun and frivolity comes just days after the Duke of Sussex thrilled sports fans at a charity match in Oxfordshire on Friday.
Given that Harry has dedicated some serious time to the sport of late, we can only assume that it holds a special place in his heart.
One thing we know for sure is that Harry and Meghan's attendance at last year's Audi Polo Challenge was the first time we ever saw them attend a public event together -- it was also the first time we saw their lock lips publicly. So cute!
