Brigitte Nielsen Gives Birth To Fifth Child At Age 54
And the new mum couldn't be happier.
Brigitte Nielsen has officially given birth to her fifth child -- and first daughter -- at the tender age of 54, and social media is buzzing!
According to People, the Danish model, actress and reality star, and her husband Mattia Dessi welcomed their first baby -- a healthy 2.6 kg baby girl named Frida -- into the world on June 22.
“We are overjoyed to welcome our beautiful daughter into our lives. It’s been a long road, and so worth it. We’ve never been more in love,” the proud parents said.
The news comes only a matter of weeks after the television personality took to social media to share with fans that she and Mattia were expecting their little bundle of joy.
At the time of the shock announcement, Nielsen posted a couple of pictures of herself showing her very large baby bump in a form-fitting dress -- which led to many fans speculating that she was indeed eight months pregnant.
"Family getting larger #me #family #brigittenielsen #babybump," the star wrote alongside a photo of herself cradling her serious baby bump.
In a second and similar snap, Nielsen appears to be striking a pensive pose, with the caption, "Happy time positive vibes #happyness #positivevibes."
A third image, which shows the star cradling her prominent baby bump at the beach, suggests the conception may have had its challenges. She captioned the pic, "Find what makes you happy and fight for it #love #family."
Nielsen also shared an adorable snap of her and hubby on Father's Day. The caption said, "You'll be a great papa Ti amo #fathersday #daddy #love #family."
The delivery couldn't have come at a better time for the star of 'Red Sonja' and 'Beverly Hills Cop 2', who is seemingly a hopeless romantic. After all, the blonde babe has been married five times.
While the star has been married to her current beau since 2006, she previously gave birth to her first son, Julian, with ex Kasper Winding. She then gave birth to her son, Killian, with ex Mark Gastineau, and later welcomed two more boys: Douglas and Raoul Jr. with Raoul Meyer. She never had children with Sylvester Stallone.
While the news is undoubtedly magical for Nielsen and Dessi, it's also a welcomed reminder for all those would-be mums who might be considering motherhood later in life.
Answering one of her social media fans who called her an "inspiration", Nielsen reportedly wrote, "Nobody has the rights to lead your own decision unless you allow them to do so. You're the only one in charge of yourself and your own happiness. Best of luck!"
Well, that sounds like some pretty good advice to us. What's more, we too think you're a bit of an inspiration, Brigitte -- congrats!
