Khloe Shares Struggles With Breastfeeding Baby True

It's controversial and other mums have a lot to say.

New mama Khloe Kardashian has been very open about her motherhood journey following first bub True's birth on April 12, 2018. She's shared everything from her intimate baby shower to post-baby workouts -- plus heaps of gorgeous pics of True -- on social media.

And while her relationship with two-month-old True's father Tristan Thompson -- he was busted cheating on her before she gave birth -- is off-limits she's more than happy to chat openly about her struggles with breastfeeding.

It seems that the 33-year-old mum isn't able to keep up with demand, so much so that she's had to supplement True's feeds with baby formula.

"Because I don’t produce enough milk, I also have to give a bottle with every feeding," Khloe revealed in a blog post on her website on June 7.

Her confession has triggered an outpouring of support on social media with mothers praising the reality star for her honesty and sharing their personal difficulties with feeding their own children.

Khloe goes on to talk about the "amazing" appliance she uses to make up and mix True's formula.

"It’s super easy to use -- and fast, so when I'm exhausted and can’t even keep my eyes open in the middle of the night, it’s a total lifesaver."

Let's be real for a moment. Khloe likely received the appliance -- and the formula for that matter -- for free and got paid to write about it on her blog.

But that's beside the point. The point is that she's using her celebrity to give a voice to a very common -- yet often neglected -- issue. Many of us -- new mothers included -- assume that breastfeeding comes naturally. In many cases it takes time, practice, pain and after all that for some women it just doesn't happen.

Another famous mama who isn't afraid to call out the tough and less-than-glamorous side of motherhood is model Chrissy Teigen. On May 21 she posted a photo of her nursing newborn Miles -- he was born on May 17 -- while proudly sporting a pair of hospital-issue mesh underwear.

Now the model-turned-cookbook-author is drawing attention to her er ... chest. In an Instagram story from Saturday June 16 the 32-year-old Sports Illustrated babe -- who is also mum to Luna, 2 -- couldn't help but notice her "milky boobs."

"Please look at my veins going to my milky boobs. What is this?" she asked suppressing a chuckle about her prominent breastfeeding veins.

That's what we love about these famous women speaking up about these topics. Some might see it as oversharing but if it helps or reassures even a single struggling mother out there then that's a job well done.

So thanks Chrissy and Khloe and keep the milky boob-selfies and breastfeeding confessionals a-coming.
