The Official Royal Wedding Photos Are Here And No, We're Not Over It
Wait till you see gorgeous family shots
If you think we’ve recovered from our serious bout of royal wedding fever then you’re wrong. #SorryNotSorry. Just give us a few more days to get it out of our system. But first we need to talk about the trio of absolutely stunning official wedding photographs that were released on May 22.
Taken by photographer Alexi Lubomirski, who snapped those incredible engagement pics of the couple back in December 2017, the three portraits will make you smile, laugh and get a bit teary all over again.
The first of the three photos, which were taken after the royal newlyweds concluded their carriage procession around Windsor on May 19, sees the newly-minted Duke and Duchess of Sussex surrounded by their adorable flock of bridesmaids and page boys.
Prince Harry is perched on a green chaise longue with Meghan -- wearing her divine Givenchy gown -- seated delicately on the carpeted floor. Their six bridesmaids -- with floral crowns and mini-Meghan bouquets -- and four black-clad page boys grin mischievously. Particularly smiley are Harry's nephew and niece Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
They're no doubt used to the whole wedding rigmarole after performing the same duties at Pippa Middleton's wedding in 2017. The remaining youngsters are Harry's godchildren and children of Meghan's friends. We wonder how many takes it took to capture this joyful yet cheeky image.
Next up is one of our favourite shots -- a group photo of the newlyweds, the bridal party, the bride's mother and Harry's family. We love everything about this beautiful snap particularly the green tones in the Queen and Doria Ragland's outfits and the walls of the Green Drawing Room of Windsor Castle. Very regal if we do say so ourselves.
The third and final pic just screams LOVE. Fresh, youthful, smitten-with-each-other lurve. Harry and Meghan are seated oh-so-casually on some steps, the bride's hair perfectly undone. Her husband (HUSBAND!) grins at the camera with a protective hand on his new wife's arm. It's the picture of relaxed elegance, openness and ease. A new era of the British monarchy has undoubtedly begun.
These three photos have really put a pep in our step following the huge day on May 19 -- and the subsequent comedown. Here's hoping the royal family continue to treat us with these type of delightful images in the days and weeks to come. We're starting to get royal wedding withdrawals already.
