Meghan Markle Will Have Two Wedding Gowns Just Like Kate Middleton
And one might be designed by this Australian fashion house.
The royal wedding is just weeks away and we're counting down the days. Meghan, 36, will marry Prince Harry, 33, inside St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle and the world will be watching.
We're looking forward to every moment, but what we're really focused on right now is Meghan's wedding gown -- or gowns, if the talk is to be believed.
The former Suits actress is said to be wearing one wedding gown when she walks down the aisle and another when she attends the reception just as her future sister-in-law Kate Middleton did when she married Prince William in 2011. The designer behind the gowns are yet to be named but a host of high-profile names have been doing the rounds for months.
They include Alexander McQueen, Victoria Beckham and Jenny Packham but there are distinct two front runners and they are Burberry boss Christopher Bailey along with Australian design duo Ralph & Russo.
Bailey is known for his classic, chic and very British style. He joined Burberry in 2014 quickly reviving the then ailing brand by giving it a fresh, playful feel. A gown designed by Bailey is likely to be fitted yet demure one with perhaps a quirky line or unusual cut to give it individuality and also, make it memorable.
Ralph & Russo was founded in 2007 by husband and wife team Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo. The haute couture fashion house is best known for its princess-style gowns which are often heavily-detailed with glittering crystals, sequins and pearls.
Both houses are vitally different -- yet Meghan has already been photographed wearing outfits from each and on several occasions. She clearly enjoys Burberry's clean lines when she's attending daytime events. But the soon-to-be Mrs Harry Windsor (although in reality neither Prince Harry or Meghan will use surnames once married) also adores Ralph & Russo -- she opted to wear one of the house's shimmering gowns for her engagement photos.
Until the designers are confirmed all all we can do is watch and wait perhaps even indulge in a princess fantasy of our own.
