I'm A Celebrity 2020: Rhonda Burchmore The Twelfth Celeb To Leave The Jungle

The leading lady of the jungle takes third place in this season of ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’.

Known for being in the spotlight on the stage and screen, Australia’s favourite showgirl was an absolutely incredible addition to this year’s camp, standing alongside Dale Thomas and Miguel Maestre at the grand finale.

Surprising absolutely everyone, Rhonda was the trial queen of the season, completely conquering eating trials with otherworldly roars, and facing her immense fear of heights during the Dreadmill trial.

‘We’ve All Been Challenged For The Better’: Rhonda Burchmore’s Daughter Is The Reason She Went Into The Jungle

The undeniable queen of the tucker trials this year, Rhonda Burchmore needed a bit of help convincing her husband it was a good idea to trade french champagne for penis coladas in the jungle.

Everything Rhonda did in the jungle she did in honour of her sister Michelle who died in 2015 after battling multiple system atrophy.

“[Michelle] would be peeing her pants up there if she saw some of the stuff I’ll be doing,” Rhonda told 10 daily before heading into the jungle. “I’m going, ‘I’m doing it for you, sis’. She would laugh, she had a wicked sense of humour. It’s going to be interesting.”

Rhonda’s chosen charity, NeuRA, supports research into the rare disease.

Taking many of the other celebs under her wing and keeping everyone entertained through song, dance and tales of her A-list encounters, Rhonda got to show Australia a different side to herself than the glamorous showgirl we’ve known and loved over her 40 years in the business.

“My mother, bless her, always said when you go out onstage people don’t want to see you in a black dress,” Rhonda told 10 daily before heading into the jungle.

“You’ve got to go out, sing a song and be glamorous. For me, ‘I’m A Celebrity’ is like throwing a bucket of water over people to maybe see a different side of Rhonda… for the first time Australia will see the real Rhonda, stripped back of all that. That’s exciting for me.”

See the real Rhonda we did, and Australia loved every second of it.
