‘It’s Challenging Dating When You’re Perez Hilton’: Gossip Guru Opens Up About Single Life
During an episode of Tanya Hennessy’s jungle podcast recorded in the ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ camp, Perez Hilton revealed that he hasn’t had sex in four years.
Speaking to Tanya, the pair covered the controversial blogger’s huge shift away from running ‘Hollywood’s most hated blog’, re-branding in 2010 as a softer gossip site.
Despite the change, Perez admitted his past continues to affect his relationships.
“The baggage that I constantly carry with me that’s so visible and heavy, because of who I am and what I do it makes it really hard to date,” he admitted.
The 41-year-old father of three went on to say “the overwhelming majority” of gay men don’t like him.
“That’s hard. I believe everybody deserves love and companionship,” he continued, “I know that I’m a great partner and when I have -- in the past -- been in relationships, I’ve been an amazing boyfriend.
“But it’s really challenging dating when you’re Perez Hilton.”
Perez told Tanya he didn’t go on a single date last year, adding that he hasn’t had “sexy times” since 2016.
“It’s okay because I live a very full, happy life. Genuinely. I don’t feel that I’m deprived of this, that and the other,” he said.
“I’m a very ambitious person, I want more. I want more professionally, I want more personally. I want love and companionship and a partner.”
While he hopes to meet someone in the future, Perez also said he isn’t on dating apps. Although he used OKCupid in the past he now wants to meet someone “the old fashioned way”.
“I want to meet somebody in the real world.”
