I'm A Celebrity 2020: Miguel Maestre Breaks Down Over Separation From Family

The fan favourite broke down in tears speaking about being away from his two children Morgan and Claudia.

Speaking to Tanya Hennessy in camp, Miguel admitted he was struggling being away from his kids for so long, saying that was the only hard thing about the experience so far.

“It’s been a very long time,” he later said in the Tok Tokkie tearing up. 

Fighting back tears the celebrity chef and ‘Living Room’ co-host said, “I’m not the kind of guy that cries, you know? But I really miss them.”

“Once you’ve got kids everything changes, you see the world in a different way,” he told Tanya and Perez Hilton. “Within one second. Because it’s not about you anymore, your children goes first.”

Following his time in the ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ camp, the AFL legend was surprisingly pleased by the experience.

While he may be in the middle of the South African jungle, Miguel still found time to celebrate his 10-year wedding anniversary by sending his wife, Sascha, a bouquet of roses. 

“It’s the most unbelievable feeling,” Miguel continued to tell Tanya in camp, “It’s a really hard to explain feeling. I think it’s like… this is the person you need to raise. This is a little person that depends on you. They become all your universe.”

The master magician, illusionist and mentalist showcased some more of his skill when he turned the ‘Married At First Sight’ star into Rhonda Burchmore’s greatest competition.

Before heading into the jungle Miguel shared a video on Instagram of Morgan and Claudia captioning it, “this video is very powerful… I’m getting quite emotional as I’m gonna miss my family and that’s going to be the hardest.”

While he’s definitely become a beloved figure in the camp, Miguel’s going to be holding out to see his family very soon.

“Family is the most important thing in life,” he wrote, “I’ll do you proud and I’ll try my best every day.”
