I'm A Celebrity 2020: Meet The Celebs Heading Into The Jungle

Here are the 12 celebrities who’ll be giving up their cushy lives to rough it in the middle of South Africa, battling their way through trials to be crowned the King or Queen of the Jungle.

“It moves without legs or wings or fins or hands or anything, you know? How it gets around is creepy,” he said in a preview of Monday night’s episode.

In the segment, a handler gave the celebrity campers an opportunity to touch one of the snakes, with Tom visibly distressed as he put his hands on the snake, shouting and swearing with tears in his eyes.

Speaking to 10 daily ahead of going into the jungle, Tom said he knew he’d have to confront his fear -- he was probably just hoping he’d have had one or two sleeps before that day came.

“I think if you own up to it you just expect the worst,” he said remembering Viper Room tucker trial where Anthony Mundine and Danny Green were underground covered in snakes for 15 minutes back in 2018.

“That’s probably the worst it could get,” Tom continued. "It’ll be horrible and I’ll probably be quite disturbed, but that’s entertaining. [I’m] there for the people, mate. Not for myself.

"I’ll be hysterical when they throw snakes on me.”

I'm A Celebrity 2020: The Charities Each Celeb Is Playing For

While the celebs face terrifying trials, give up their creature comforts for creepy crawlies and vie for the title of King or Queen of the jungle, it’s all for a very good cause.

With the help of some of his other celebrity campmates, including ‘The Living Room’ co-host Miguel Maestre who comes to his aid, Tom confronts one of his greatest fears.

Tom isn't the first celebrity to overcome a phobia this season. 'Geordie Shore'  TV star Charlotte Crosby had said one of her worst fears included vertical drops, and in the premiere episode on Sunday she was tasked with a bungee jump out of a helicopter.

Tearfully unable to complete the trial, Charlotte became the first celebrity to utter the words 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here' so early in the season.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs Sunday to Thursday at 7.30 on 10 and 10 Play.
