The Bachelorette Australia 2019: Angie Kent Picks Carlin Sterritt

After a long journey to find her perfect man, Angie Kent finally admitted she had found the one with Carlin Sterritt.

After a bumpy road to the finale, Angie put it all on the line, telling Carlin that she had fallen in love with him.

"I'm going to be honest," she told him during the finale, "you're usually not my type of guy. You're very put together and I'm not put together.

"I'm not perfect. I get dressed up in pretty dresses but I'm a f--king mess," she continued, "I've put myself into this so much and I don't want the perfect guy for everyone. I want the perfect guy for me."

"I truly have put my whole heart and soul into this and there's no doubt in my mind now that I feel like you are the perfect guy for me."

For the first time since they met on the red carpet, Angie told Carlin, "I'm completely falling in love with you."

A pleasantly surprised Carlin returned the sentiment telling Angie, "I am falling in love with you too."

Speaking to 10 daily after the finale, the loved-up couple said the whole ride had been surreal.

He was the lovable surprise who won hearts and made us believe in the magic of sunflowers, but unfortunately for Timm Hanly, Angie Kent took a gamble on someone else.

"I could not put the experience into one word," Carlin said, "I learned so much about myself but also about Angie. It was emotionally draining, but I've gotten the best-case scenario out of it and that's what I'm stoked about."

In those final moments, heading to see Angie one last time Carlin admitted he was "so nervous".

"Seeing that Timm and I are completely different characters, it was one of those things that really threw me off. I didn't know which way Angie would go but I was just trusting what we had built," he said.

"It was all based on hope. Hoping that she would choose me at the end, hoping that she would see we could have such a good, exciting future together."

For Angie, having to re-live the entire experience by watching the show had been intense.

"It's tough to watch back," she said, "when you're filming it you're so in the 'now', you don't think about how it's going to turn into an episode, you don't think about how the public's going to perceive it.

"Having to watch myself make connections with all these other people when I already picked the person that I want to be with... it's a bit of a mind f---, to be honest."

The pair have been living in secret since the show finished wrapping, telling 10 daily that they were extremely excited to finally have the chance to just go out in public and eat.

"Every time we're together it's private. To be able to go out and have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Oh my god, it'll be so surreal, I'm so excited," Angie said.

For a season full of surprises, Angie said she was thrilled that she had overcome the Bachelorette's "first rose curse".

"Do you know about the curse?" she said referencing the trend that in all seasons of 'The Bachelorette' save for Sam Frost's, the bachelor who received the first rose didn't go on to win. Even Matt Agnew's golden ticket went to Elly Miles rather than his number one pick Chelsie McLeod.

"Something inside of me was so stubborn," Angie said, "I was like 'Nup, I want to give this guy the 24-hour rose', and people said that meant I wouldn't see him for like five weeks.

"I was like, 'Nup. This is what I want to do,' and I stuck with my gut and he broke the first rose curse. So that don't exist anymore!"

As Angie cheered the end to the curse, Carlin in the background chanted, "What whaaaat!"
