'Jeopardy' Host Fights Back Tears Following Contestant's Final Tribute

Alex Trebek fought back tears after a contestant used his Final Jeopardy answer to deliver a sweet message to the host.

Trebek has been undergoing treatment for Stage 4 pancreatic cancer since revealing his diagnosis back in March, the longtime game show host has kept fans updated on his condition.

Most recently, Trebek announced that he would resume chemotherapy treatments, after returning to film new episodes of the series in August.

On Monday's episode, during the Tournament of Champions, contestant Dhruv Gaur used his Final Jeopardy answer to not answer the question but instead write, "We love you, Alex".

The 79-year-old host thanked Gaur for his note before fighting back tears as he continued -- ever the professional -- to reveal, "[That] cost you $1,995, you're left with $5."
