'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!': Miguel Maestre Is Going From The Living Room To The Jungle
It's almost that time of year again where a slew of celebs are ripped from their lux lifestyles and forced to take on the South African jungle for 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'
And now we can officially reveal that after trading his chef hat for salsa shoes on 'Dancing With The Stars', the loveable co-host of 10’s 'The Living Room' -- Miguel Maestre -- is once again stepping out of his comfort zone as a contestant in the latest season of 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'
"This is an amazing opportunity," Miguel told 10 daily. "Everybody's used to seeing me in my comfort zone on the sofa, so it will be amazing for everyone to see a different side of me."
He continued, "Maybe people will see a Miguel that they have not seen before! My life wasn't always roses -- I came from nothing and I couldn't even speak English when I first came to Australia," he explained, adding, "So people will see how I react to all these crazy things and see a different side of me."
As for how he thinks he will fare undertaking gruelling physical challenges and gag-worthy food trials, Miguel revealed he isn't worried in the slightest -- after all, he's had a lot of practice!
"I do this for a living! 'The Living Room' guys push me around and torture me on a daily basis!" he laughed.
"But honestly I think this year I'm stronger than ever, so the physical side of things doesn't scare me -- I'm normally doing crazy things for a living! And as for the tucker trials, that doesn't really scare me either because I'm a chef, so you need to be able to try everything."
And while most of us would think dancing up a storm would be a cakewalk compared to roughing it in the jungle, Miguel begs to differ.
"Nothing could be harder than 'Dancing With The Stars'," he declared. "That was one of the biggest shocks in my career.
"I was dancing for the charity 'R U OK?', and I almost felt like I failed them by not winning -- but now I'm so excited because I have a second chance, and this time the prize money is $100,000," he explained, adding, "I'm just so grateful to have another opportunity".
Not only will we be seeing sassy Spaniard Miguel Maestre take on the jungle, but there'll also be an Australian comedian, an AFL legend and a television megastar competing to win a whopping $100,000 cheque for their chosen charity and the gloating rights of being crowned 2020’s King or Queen Of The Jungle!
I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! season six premieres on Sunday, 5 January, 2020 at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 play.
