Dave Hughes Rubbishes Rumours Lindsay Lohan Was Dumped From 'The Masked Singer'
Following reports that Lindsay Lohan has been dumped from the guessing panel of 'The Masked Singer Australia', Dave Hughes decided to clear things up.
Speaking on The Hit Network's Hughesy & Kate on Monday afternoon, the comedian came out swinging in defence of his fellow panellist, saying Lohan was doing "a wonderful job".
"It's not easy -- sometimes it takes me a minute to realise [who] the person behind the mask is!" Hughesy said in defence of the star.
Refuting claims from an unnamed source in 'New Idea' which described LiLo as being "tricky with demands and had a complete lack of respect for time schedules", Hughesy replied: "She wasn't!"
He continued, "Lindsay Lohan was an absolute pleasure to work with and will be on the second series."
During her time on 'The Masked Singer', the 33-year-old 'Freaky Friday' actress has been forced to defend herself a number of times against reports of "diva-like" behaviour.
One such story came from Wendell Sailor, aka the Rhino, who revealed on Kyle and Jackie O that he was made to wait in his hot costume before performing until the star was ready.
“That day I was there from 11.30 in the morning and I think my last performance at the end there where I got the boot was at about 10 o’clock at night,” he said.
“I was at the back and I was waiting to come out,” he told the hosts. “About a minute before I had to perform, they said, ‘Lindsay’s hungry, she’s going to have a break.’ It was like an hour break!”
Meanwhile, Lindsay later voiced her thoughts on the KIIS FM show, insisting she only took a break so that both the panel and audience members would be able to eat.
“There were some things that were said that weren’t a part of what was happening on the show,” Lindsay began, adding that Sailor had left the stage to adjust his costume because it was hot.
She continued, “None of us had had anything to eat for a very long period of time. The audience only had pretzels. Everyone needed to eat real food.”
Jackie O agreed, adding, “Yeah, because we’d been gone all day!”
“Twelve hours,” Lindsay said. “I was like Jackie, do you want me to get up and go tell them that we have to have our thirty-minute break? Because legally we have to have a break. We had 15 minutes to eat!”
“People want to find the negative for no reason. There was nothing negative about [filming The Masked Singer],” she added.
Network 10 is yet to confirm a second season of 'The Masked Singer' and has not made any statement about the judging panel.
'The Masked Singer Australia' airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7.30 on 10 and WIN Networks.
