'I Was So Scared Of You!': Dannii Minogue Finally Found Out Who 'The Masked Singer’s Prawn Is

Dannii Minogue has finally found out who the sexy Prawn is -- after weeks of fearing it could be one of her exes hiding behind ‘The Masked Singer’ costume.

Ever since Prawn whispered Dannii’s name mid-song when he performed Elvis Presley’s “Suspicious Minds” the panellists have sensed a sort of one-sided chemistry between the pair.

“You do realise there’s a love-hate relationship going on right now between you and Dannii?” asked Jackie O.

But despite repeated guesses that it was her ex Kris Smith – the Prawn was revealed to be none other than...

DARREN MCMULLEN!

The Scottish Australian TV host and actor ('The Voice Australia', 'House Husbands') had landed in the bottom two with Wolf, despite giving us an impressive final performance of Robbie Williams' "Let Me Entertain You".

"My whole life I’ve wanted to sing, I’ve wanted to be on stage. If I can do that somehow with a mask and hidden behind this mask that’d be a great opportunity," McMullen said after he removed his giant Pirate Prawn head.

He also cleared up a crucial bit of misinformation, informing the judges that he'd actually said Jackie's name too during "Suspicious Minds" but nobody heard him.

"When you put that suit on you’ve got to encapsulate a character and it’s either a stinky prawn or a fabulous Captain Jack Sparrow," he said of Prawn's flirting with the panel.

He also explained that he'd played around with a few accents but had "never sang before in my life".

"This is the first time I’ve sang before outside of a karaoke bar, so to do it in front of the nation, in front of you guys, it was great," said Darren.

The Clues!

For all of us playing at home, here are the clues we definitely didn't piece together about Prawn during the last three weeks.

  • “I’m not from around here” -- Darren was born in Scotland and moved to Australia as a teen.
  • The John Farnham record was a reference to ‘The Voice’ which McMullen hosted.
  • The skiing medals were from McMullen’s time in the Scottish Junior team.
  • His “choice of hobby” and passion is American football and hosts NFL Football Fanatic in the States.

We didn't see that one coming!

'The Masked Singer Australia' airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7.30 on 10 and WIN Networks.
