The Bachelorette Australia 2019: Meet The Bachelors
Could one of these blokes be Angie Kent's Mr Right?
It's almost time for Angie to meet her 20 strapping bachelors, each vying to win her heart.
But before she has a chance to meet them on the red carpet, we've collected the crew here for you to get to know (and pick your favourites) with a few interesting tidbits along the way.
Meet the bachelors for 'The Bachelorette 2019':
Adam, 34, QLD
Adam's a freediving instructor who described his love life like 'Clueless' -- not because he's made out with Paul Rudd, but because his "choices have been horrendous".
The dad of two said people would be surprised to know that he's "almost 100 kilograms but largely live a vegan/vegetarian diet", so definitely not breaking any stereotypes about vegans there.
Alex, 26, QLD
Alex is a 26-year-old landscaper whose biggest turn-ons are "a beautiful smile and someone who is active and who is happy in their own skin without makeup".
Having never been in a relationship before, Alex said he signed up for 'The Bachelorette' because of Angie's "outgoing personality and natural good looks". So he's definitely not angling for a MAC Cosmetics sponsorship.
Carlin, 30, NSW
When asked which cartoon character best describes him, Carlin said Batman's sidekick Robin because "he's loyal, achieves quietly in the background, looks great in tights".
The fitness trainer's dream date includes snorkelling and/or paddleboarding before dinner and wine under the stars on a blanket. No blanket? No Carlin.
Ciarran, 25, NT
An ex-Army Rifleman, Ciarran said he's the perfect man for Angie because they're both "hot blondes".
When asked what he's looking for in the perfect partner, Ciarran said he wanted "someone who is caring and giving, tells me I look good and we just get along nice and easy". The 25-year-old also said he's most like Johnny Bravo, because "he's a little bit vain and always likes to look good haha".
Glenn, 31, WA
When asked to describe his love life up to now with a rom-com, Glenn said 'Groundhog Day'.
When asked to describe his love life up to now with a rom-com, Glenn said 'Groundhog Day'.
"Life has a funny way of repeating itself until you do something about it," he added. The refrigeration mechanic said if his ex were to describe him in three words they'd call him "loyal, frustrating, honest".
Haydn, 32, NSW
Like Ciarran, Haydn also described himself as Johnny Bravo because "he has immaculate hair". A firefighter and a carpenter, Haydn said when he was young his dream job was to be a Ninja Turtle.
When asked how his ex would describe him in three words, Haydn simply responded: "Selfish".
Jackson, 25, NSW
Jackson is a man with his fingers in many pies - LITERALLY. A sales manager who is also a keen footy player and is also studying psychology, Jackson also works at his family's pie business. Yum!
Because of his love of footy, Jackson's biggest turn-on is "a girl that can play sport well". What a coincidence! Our biggest turn-on is a guy that can sell us some pies.
Jamie, 39, NSW
Firefighter Jamie says that if he could have dinner with one person -- alive or dead -- he'd pick Angie, "because it means I'm lucky enough to have received a one-on-one date!" If Angie was busy though, Jamie would want to have dinner with Obama.
Jamie's travelled to 116 countries, which is probably why when asked if he could be any animal he picked an Eagle. It would make all that travel a lot easier.
When asked what he'd cook for a date to impress them, Jamie said: "Artichoke and pecorino bruschetta to start, followed by a main of hazelnut and oregano pasta, with a dessert of bittersweet chocolate soufflé, washed down with a couple passionfruit martinis." So.. nothing too specific.
Jess, 36, QLD
When asked if he had any dealbreakers, local politician Jess told 10 daily, "Big feet. Anything that's over like [size] five, six, seven in a woman, that's weird."
When asked if he could be any animal what he would be, Jess picked a kangaroo (famously, a large-footed animal), explaining, "so I could just chill in really nice parts of Australia. Plus, they jump so fast."
Jess thought he was most like Batman. "Great body," he said, adding, "Takes from the rich and gives to the poor, and an honest man, I think."
Jesse, 31, WA
When asked what animal Jesse would want to be, he said: "I would be a panther, because a panther represents strength and ferocity. It is a cat that has strength in all dimensions, it can run, swim and climb trees."
The house and land specialist said that if his ex had to describe him in only three words they'd pick, "best partner ever". Not sure if they meant 'best panther ever' but we'll have to wait and find out.
Josh, 37, VIC
Josh is a mobile zoo owner, which probably explains why when asked if he could have dinner with anyone alive or dead he picked his idol, David Attenborough.
A massive advocate for conservation and educating kids, Josh said that it's obvious the one cartoon character he'd describe himself as would be Captain Planet.
Kayde, 25, WA
Luxury car salesman Kayde may have been born with the gift of the gab, but unfortunately, he wasn't born with any gifts in the kitchen. When asked what he'd cook for a date to impress them, the 25-year-old said, "If I was to try to impress them I would never cook. I’d probably impress her more by putting out the fires I had started while cooking."
Kayde said his biggest turn-offs include "girls who are too forward" with him as well as "girls that talk about getting wasted all the time".
Matt, 27, QLD
A BMX stunt rider from Queensland, 27-year-old Matt will feel right at home on 'The Bachelorette' because, when asked what he'd cook to impress a date, Matt said: "I am not the best cook, but I can make a good cheese platter and pour a glass of red." Get ready to have your fill of cheese platters, buddy.
When asked if he could describe himself as a cartoon character, Matt picked Road Runner, "because I'm always on the go. Sitting still isn't for me."
Mitch, 31, QLD
Apprentice plumber Mitch was once one of the youngest fleet commanders in the navy, but that doesn't mean he isn't up for a little bit of fun. Describing himself as down-to-Earth, cheeky and fun, Mitch also said he isn't worried about having to muscle his way through the competition if it means getting more time with Angie.
When asked if he could be any animal, Mitch said he wanted to be an eagle because: "they aren't restricted by land or sea. I just love watching them glide through the sky."
Niranga, 28, QLD
When Niranga was asked what three words his ex would use to describe him, he said: "Family orientated, spontaneous and affectionate". No surprise his ex wouldn't have picked "good at counting" then.
An aircraft engineer, Niranga has played state and national rugby and cricket, so he's a good sport -- if you know what we mean -- and he knows what he wants, which is why he thinks Angie is the perfect match for him. "Angie is naturally beautiful, independent, witty and short."
Oliver, 25, NSW
From a young age, Oliver was taught to "always stand up for your bird", which sounds like his pet bird went through some hard times with bullying. Kid birds can be so mean.
A heating technician, Oliver is hoping Angie warms to him (nice one) and his unpredictable nature. When asked to describe himself as a cartoon character, Oliver picked Donkey from 'Shrek' because: "I like to talk a lot and act crazy/funny around everyone."
Scot, 27, NSW
Scot -- or 'Scooter' as his mates call him -- is a real estate agent who loves to be out in the sun. The 27-year-old says the most romantic thing he's done for a crush was fly to another country "to see them for just 24 hours".
Scooter said that if he was like any cartoon character it would be Bart Simpson "because he is mischievous and playful". We also can't wait to hear Scot's signature catchphrase "Ay, caramba!" on the red carpet.
Timm, 27, VIC
Timm arrived on the red carpet with a massive bunch of sunflowers for Angie. "I buy flowers for myself every Sunday," he admitted when asked about his guilty pleasures.
The fireproofer from Victoria was asked what he would cook for a date to impress them, to which he responded: "Would cook, will cook, can cook, love to cook." Okay!
When asked if he had any dealbreakers, Timm said he wasn't a fan of "close-minded, self-entitled, girls that don't swim".
Tom, 31, QLD
Unfortunately for Adam, one of Tom's dealbreakers? Being a vegan.
An adventure-lover, Tom said his dream date would "start with a bungee jump out of a helicopter followed by a picnic on the beach at sunset". Good plan, eating AFTER you've thrown up from jumping out of a perfectly good helicopter only to bounce right back up to some spinning blades.
Tom said he's attracted to Angie because she has all the qualities he's looking for, "genuine, caring, adventurous, friendly and kind without taking herself too seriously".
Warwick, 36, QLD
When asked what cartoon character he's most like, Warwick said: "Bob from 'Bob's Burgers' because he is a top bloke."
The self-described top-bloke and construction supervisor said that Angie "Just seems like someone that I would have a laugh with," before adding, "and she's gorgeous".
When asked if he thought there was anything he wanted Australia to know about him before the show kicked off, Warwick simply said: "Not really, aye."
