Breaking Down Who The 'Masked Singer's Sydney Superstar Could Be
Ahead of Monday's episode of 'The Masked Singer', we heard the next to be unmasked would be a Sydney Superstar... so here's who we think that could be.
So, while we don't know which mask will be taken off tonight, we do know that the person underneath is a 'Sydney Superstar'. And with that in mind, we've tried to join together who that could potentially be.
Here are 12 guesses we came up with:
We know Rebel is mad for a bit of a song, with her breakout role in 'Pitch Perfect' launching her name into global stardom. But the Sydneysider could have dropped in to belt a few tunes incognito. Also, we checked, she's pretty close to the height of the Lion. Just sayin'.
Can Ian Thorpe sing? That's probably the first question we should have asked, but the three-time gold medallist may have traded the pool for a Prawn mask when you think about it. The only issue is that at a whopping 196 cm, the Thorpedo may be a little too tall to fit in Prawn's shoes.
Danielle MacDonald has starred in TV and feature films, and both her lead roles in 'Patti Cake$' and Netflix's 'Dumplin' were based on young women and their love of music. Now, Danielle has admitted that she "doesn't sing", but that hasn't stopped her from learning to rap on-camera or singing in front of Dolly Parton.
Here's a fun fact: did you know that the former Wiggle and Sydney-born Greg owned one of the world's largest Elvis Presley memorabilia collections in the world? And what did the Prawn sing on the very first night? Elvis' "Suspicious Minds". Very suspicious indeed.
No stranger to a singing competition, the 'Voice' judge's name was thrown into the ring by a lot of viewers who thought she could be either hiding behind the Monster or the Spider mask.
Tim Campbell has been a star of stage and screen and he absolutely has the vocal chops to blow the guessing panel away. A handful of folk think he could be our Wolf who did label themselves a triple threat -- and Tim's not only an actor and singer -- but placing third on 'Dancing with the Stars' back in 2007? Triple. Threat.
Literally the face of the Sydney Olympics, the judges were pretty certain the Alien could be Nikki -- and despite some of the clues throwing them for a bit of a loop, social media backed the panel up.
Look, it WOULD be a surprise, wouldn't it?
Paulini's name was thrown out early on with the panel wondering if she could have been under the Octopus mask. Now we know that was Gretel Killeen, it still doesn't rule out Paulini as one of the other masks... and while she was born in Fiji, Paulini and her family moved to Sydney when she was four-years-old.
Global superstar, Academy Award nominee, Golden Globe winner... and... giant pirate Prawn? It's not entirely out of the question that the 'Boy from Oz' could have quietly slipped into one of our masks to surprise the judges (and the rest of the country while he's at it).
Another of the guessing panel's suggestions, when Robot took to the stage with his performance of "Hold Back the River" there were quite a few suggestions that it could be Matt Corby. Despite being the runner-up to Natalie Gauchi in 2007's 'Australian Idol', Corby did describe his time on the show as a "big f---ing mistake", so while we're not ruling him out, we WOULD be surprised to see him back on another singing competition.

Honestly, it is a Sydney superstar, you have to give us that.
