'The Masked Singer Australia': Every Mind-Blowing Reveal So Far
It's the moment we all desperately crave -- when a Masked Singer finally pulls their oversized character head off to reveal the mystery celebrity inside.
While the clues, the singing and the panel's guesses are all well and good, it's those excruciating ten seconds when someone struggles to remove their mask as the audience chants, "TAKE IT OFF, TAKE IT OFF" that we're all really here for.
And just when the anticipation builds to an unbearable level and you're yelling at Osher through the TV to help remove a giant Octopus head, sweet relief arrives.
Depending on what type of 'Masked Singer' viewer you are, it's time to either bask in the smug satisfaction after having guessed correctly, sit in stony silence as your housemate says 'I told you so' or be completely bewildered by the hidden celeb because you're very bad at guessing, but just happy to be along on the weird and wonderful ride.
If you're lacking in the patience to re-watch a whole episode to get to your favourite reveal, we're going to compile them all right here.
Episode 1: Octopus
We said farewell to the swingin' 60s Octopus too soon, after she sang a sassy version of the 'Fame' theme tune. Standing at 170cm tall, we learnt that Octopus was a leader from an early age, had a career change that everyone laughed at and had recently been "getting her money from the bookmakers".
Revealed: Gretel Killeen!
Episode 2: Parrot
Parrot was next to be knocked off the 'Masked Singer' perch -- but not before leaving with us a good old fashioned singalong to the Hoodoo Gurus' "What's My Scene?". Cryptic clues told us that Parrot lives life at high speed, has flown all over the world following the sun and "likes to look good" but we still couldn't pick who it was.
Revealed: Brett Lee!
Episode 3: Alien
Even though Alien's voice was ~out of this world~ she left after just two performances, leaving us with a killer rendition of 5SOS' "Youngblood". The clues we gathered about the shortest of our Masked Singers included her early rise and fall from fame and a room decorated with Spice Girls posters and five hula hoops arranged like Olympic rings.
Revealed: Nikki Webster!
Episode 4: Rhino
After just two performances, we said goodbye to Rhino, who left us with a hip-shaking rendition of Flo-Rida's "Low". Before the judges made their final guesses about the "all-star" we learned that he was no stranger to fancy footwork and that he didn't believe in ghosts but did believe in "crossing over".
Revealed: Wendell Sailor!
Episode 5: Prawn
Poor Dannii had to endure weeks of wondering whether her ex Kris Smith was behind the Prawn mask and Jackie O was still suspicious after he gave his last performance, singing Robbie Williams' "Let Me Entertain You".
Revealed: Darren McMullen!
Episode 6: Dragon
We were never really sure who was behind the Dragon costume because his voice kept changing every week. But after singing "Shut Up And Dance", he revealed that a bout of gastro had made things a little tricky in past weeks. Still sounded great to us!
Revealed: Adam Brand!
Episode 7: Lion
Lion gave her last roar with a rendition of Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" but at least none of the panel guessed who she was!
Revealed: Kate Ceberano!
Episode 8: Spider and Unicorn.
We lost two of the competition's strongest performers but at least we finally found out the celebrities responsible for those powerful voices
First Reveal: Paulini Curuenavuli!
Second Reveal: Deni Hynes!
We only have three more celebs to be unmasked from behind the Monster, , Robot, and Wolf costumes so watch this space!
