Jared Padalecki To Star in 'Walker, Texas Ranger' Reboot
Jared Padalecki has landed his first post-'Supernatural' gig ahead of the show ending with its 15th season.
But if you were sad to see the actor, 37, leave the small screen, then we have some great news for you -- he's reportedly the leading contender to take on a new project, called 'Walker', which is set to be a refresh on 1990s series 'Walker, Texas Ranger' that starred Chuck Norris as the titular character.
According to Deadline, Jared's Walker is "a man finding his way back to his family while investigating crime in the state’s most elite unit. Our broken widower and father of two returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years for a high profile case -- only to discover that there’s even more work to be done at home."
Upon the news that the 'Supernatural' star would possibly be taking on the project, Twitter users immediately were on board with the casting.
Jared and his co-stars Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins first broke the news that 'Supernatural' would be coming to an end back in March with a touching video posted to social media.
"I’m so grateful for the family that’s been built because of the show. Excuse me while I go cry," he wrote in the post.
'Supernatural' has been on the air since 2005 and will come to a close next year, while 'Walker, Texas Ranger' ran from 1993-2001, with a TV movie being released in 2005.
