'Shut Up': Nicole Kidman Shuts Down 'Outrageous' Sex Question On Radio
Appearing on 'The Kyle and Jackie O Show' to talk about the season finale of 'Big Little Lies', Nicole Kidman wasn't impressed with Kyle's questions about her sex life.
Nicole Kidman has made it clear that she's not here for any questions regarding her sex life with rocker husband, Keith Urban.
Speaking to Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O on KIIS 106.5 to chat about the 'Big Little Lies' season two finale, the actress was left squirming when Kyle inquired as to whether Urban's track "Gemini" -- which happens to be Kidman's star sign -- was in reference to her.
“I was looking through some things that Keith had said…” Sandilands began.
“Uh-oh. Kyle…” Kidman replied.
Referencing the lyrics “maniac in the bed but a brainiac in her head,” Kyle continued, “Keith said that’s about you in the bedroom, that you’re a maniac in bed-- do you say to him, ‘Watch what you say about me, darling?’”
Trying to be a good sport, Kidman replied, "You’re so bad! I don’t censor his art. If I can be a muse for it …”
While Jackie O added, “It’s not like he says you’re a dud in the bedroom.”
Kidman agreed with Jackie, saying, “That’d be worse. It is embarrassing, but at the same time, it’s better than saying ‘God, I’m so bored. Make an effort, Nicole.”
Not satisfied with her lack of details, Kyle kept probing, asking the star about other lyrics, which read, “A little bit left, a little bit right. She’s waking to make love in the middle of the night.”
“He also says you wake up in the middle of the night to get your freak on,” he cheekily added, which clearly was the point of contention for Kidman.
“No. What? Shut up, you’re making that up. Shut up, Kyle. I’m not answering that. That’s outrageous,” Kidman declared.
It's not the first time the star has become flustered with the pair's line of questioning while appearing on the show -- last year, when discussing her film 'Destroyer' in which she underwent a stark physical transformation, Jackie said:
“I watched 'Destroyer'; I loved it. You’re not afraid to … what’s the best way to describe it … get yourself ‘uglied up’ for a role. You don’t care what you look like for a role."
Not impressed with the focus on her appearance for the flick, she replied, “Umm … I suppose it’s not … I mean, I see it as necessary for the character to be authentic,” she said.
When Jackie went on to press for further questions regarding her physical transformation, Kidman quickly shut down the interview, saying, “Anyway, I’ve gotta go, because they’re waiting at the other radio station, which I’d better not say on your show,” she said, before farewelling the host and swiftly hanging up.
It seems that Kidman is no fan of talking about the various wigs she's donned for her roles, with the star having previously shut down a question about it several months before Jackie's interview.
In another interview during promotion for 'Destroyer', Sam Herbst, a huge fan of Kidman who runs a podcast dedicated to the Aussie actress, said “I’ve spent the last year ranking your movies by things like wigs and this movie is pretty wig-heavy; how do you think it ranks and do you have any other favourites?”
According to LA Times writer Mark Olsen who was in the audience, Kidman replied, "That's an awful question. I am shutting that question down."
