She's Back! Carrie Bickmore Announces Her Return To 'The Project'

Carrie Bickmore is heading back to 'The Project' right in time for a very special event.

After taking time off following the birth of her daughter, Adelaide, Carrie will be back on the panel with Waleed, Lisa and Pete from Monday, July 8.

Which means she'll be back for the show's 10th-anniversary episode -- a 90-minute celebration scheduled for Friday, July 19.

Carrie said in a statement that she "can't believe" it's been 10 whole years since the groundbreaking show first aired.

"It only feels like yesterday I was sitting on the desk in a cold sweat waiting for the first show to begin," she explained.

"I have loved watching the show (and my hair) change and evolve over the decade. It’s been like a second home to me and I feel so fortunate to work next to genuine friends.”

The good news arrives hot on the heels of Carrie's Order of Australia medal, awarded as part of Queen Elizabeth's birthday honours this month.

Carrie was recognised for her services to media, and her dedication to raising awareness about brain cancer through her foundation, Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer.

The beloved host has been on maternity leave since the end of last year, telling 'The Project' panel in a live cross from London last week that it's been "a very special time" spending time with her newborn and entire family.

"Our little baby Adelaide was a very tricky little baby, the months have flown past because we've just had our heads down and been in the trenches."

Carrie is featured on the latest cover of the Australian Women's Weekly with her sixth-month-old bubba Addie, the younger sibling of Ollie, 11 and Evie, 4.

The interview includes Carrie's description of the challenging first few months with Adelaide, who had an undiagnosed case of reflux that meant a lot of sleepless nights for Carrie and partner Chris Walker.

"All I knew was that I literally couldn’t put her down without her being uncomfortable. So I held her pretty much for six weeks straight, which meant I didn’t sleep," Carrie reveals in the new interview.

During her live feed from London, Carrie assured her work family that she couldn't wait to be back behind the desk.

"I miss you all and I'm really looking forward to coming back," she added.

We've missed you too, Carrie and we're counting down the days until July 8!
