The 'MasterChef' Contestants Returning For A Second Chance
We're halfway through the competition, which means our eliminated contestants get a shot at redemption.
Whether they got out right at the beginning of Season 11, or left as recently as last week, the amateur chefs we've tearfully farewelled will get one last cook in the MasterChef kitchen to prove they deserve a spot in the final 12.
Historically, some of the most talented MasterChef cooks have left the competition too soon, undone by bad luck or after encountering a dessert pressure test that involved 672 steps.
Legends Poh Ling Yeow, Justine Schofield and Sarah Todd were all eliminated before the pointy end of their seasons, only to come triumphantly charging back.
Here's a reminder of all your Season 11 favourites -- but which one will score another bite at the MasterChef cherry?
Huda was sadly the first to leave the competition, but has been busy practising her kitchen skills and working on her sweet business, Sassi Ice Cream.
We fell in love with Dee's Sri Lankan crab curry and her ability to keep up with Curtis Stone -- but she was ultimately sent home by Darren Purchese's wicked Bombe Alaska.
Yossra wowed the judges with her Egyptian kofta pockets, but was sent packing after being forced to cook with her least favourite ingredient -- white chocolate.
School teacher Monica left us during Nigella Week, undone by a dish she doesn't cook up too often -- roast chicken. Since leaving the competition, she's been working hard on a book which honours her Italian heritage and treasured family recipes.
Mandy told us she had a poster of George Calombaris above her bed in the MasterChef house as a good luck charm. She's been refining her fermentation skills since leaving the competition, and cursing the sweet mustard pickle that helped get her eliminated.
An early favourite in the competition, Jess crumbled over Clare Smyth's pear and lemon verbena vacherin. She's been working hard at Firedoor in Surry Hills with Lennox Hastie to refine the skills she learned on MasterChef.
Spanish-food whiz Blake tripped up in Ottolenghi's deli meat taste test, but has since been promoted from bar manager to chef at Porto in Victoria.
Leah showed us her skills as a dessert queen, but left the comp after attempting paella without a recipe. She still dreams of opening a theatre restaurant and has also started her own gourmet grazing plate company, Tables and Cheese.
Ah, Kyle. The vegetarian who was eliminated after choosing to cook with pork despite having an open pantry! At least he got home in time for the birth of his twin girls, Pippa and Rosie.
Prince Harry lookalike and early favourite Tim left at the beginning of Queensland Week after a valiant attempt at an impossible dessert. The kitchen garden educator dreams of opening his own gourmet toastie food truck.
Will Joe make it back into the comp just days after leaving? The 22-year-old pasta king left at the end of Queensland Week, after an epic seafood challenge.
MasterChef Australia airs Sunday to Thursday nights at 7.30pm. Only On 10 And WIN Network. Missed an episode? Catch up on 10 Play or 10 All Access!
