Kit Harington's Reaction To The 'Game Of Thrones' Final Scene Is Heartbreaking
'GoT' finale spoilers inside!
Fans and cast members alike were emotional over the series finale of 'Game Of Thrones' -- but none more so than Kit Harington upon learning that his character, Jon Snow, would be killing Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke, in the finale.
In a clip from 'Game of Thrones: The Last Watch', a documentary on the making of the show's final season, we learn that the British actor chose to avoid looking at the final script until the table read -- meaning his first reaction to the finale's plot twist was caught on film.
Upon learning that Snow stabs Daenerys through the heart, Harington is seen placing his hand to his mouth in shock as he becomes teary.
"I was very shocked and surprised at certain events unfolding," Harington said during a 'Late Show' appearance, "and then I blubbed my eyes out. I cried."
It's just one of several emotional scenes from the two-hour documentary, which also includes another touching moment from Harington in which he breaks down in tears as he gives a speech to the cast and crew.
He continued, “I feel like my heart is breaking,” Harington said. “I love this show more than, I think, anything."
“It has never been a job for me. It’s been my life and this will always be the greatest thing I’ll ever do. You are my family. I love yous,” he added as extras cried watching on.
Speaking about her character's fate, Emilia told Entertainment Weekly she felt that Daenerys' ending was fitting for the character, calling it a "beautiful and touching ending".
"I thought she was going to die. I feel very taken care of as a character in that sense."
She continued, "Hopefully, what you’ll see in that last moment as she’s dying is: There’s the vulnerability – there’s the little girl you met in season 1. See? She’s right there. And now, she’s not there anymore… But having said all of the things I’ve just said… I stand by Daenerys. I stand by her! I can’t not."
'Game Of Thrones: The Last Watch' is available to watch on Foxtel.
