'I Deserve A Gold Logie And A Nappy Commercial': Amanda Keller Nominated For Gold

The host of 'Dancing with the Stars' and 'The Living Room' nabs another Gold Logie nomination.

For the second year in a row Amanda Keller has nabbed a Gold Logie nomination, as well as being nominated for Most Popular Presenter, Amanda's shows 'Dancing with the Stars' and 'The Living Room' were both nominated for Most Popular Entertainment Series and Most Popular Lifestyle Program respectively.

"I'm really, really excited," Amanda told 10 daily from the Gold Coast. "We just had some photos taken with the other nominees and -- can I just say -- what a nice group of people," she added.

Amanda has been non-stop since the year kicked off with the first season of 'Dancing', juggling that with her breakfast radio show it was then straight into a new season of 'The Living Room'.

"I did pace myself!" she said, laughing, "I haven't felt that much busier, but it's great. I'm chuffed!"

For Amanda, looking at all the nominees for Gold this year, it's all about building connections with the audience.

"These shows allow us to do that," Amanda explained, "There's no greater compliment for people saying to me, 'I feel like you're a friend of mine', that's a lovely thing."

The last time Amanda was nominated alongside Grant Denyer who she went on to co-host 'Dancing' with, but following an injury, Grant had to step out of the hosting gig, forced into bed rest.

On social media, the 'Celebrity Name Game' host urged his followers to vote for Amanda after the stellar job she did in his absence.

Grant's shoes were temporarily filled a few times by Denise Scott who during one show pointed out how rare it was to see two women hosting a show in primetime.

"Two women over the age of 158," Amanda quickly quipped to us. "We talked about that a bit, for me to be as busy as I am now -- and have that great opportunity and a wonderful nomination at my age, to still be working in an industry that I love, it's a bit unheard of in past generations.

"There's a new grey wave of women over the age of 50 who are still here and doing some of their best work!"

But that work doesn't come without sacrifice and earlier when 10 daily caught up with Amanda to talk all things 'Dancing', she revealed to us just what some of that sacrifice looks like.

For the duration of 'Dancing with the Stars', Amanda was dressed in some outstanding pieces, but ultimately they would mean having microphone pack strapped to her ankles (so as not to ruin silhouettes of the outfits). For the duration of recording Amanda wasn't able to sit -- to avoid wrinkles -- and hours before filming she would restrict liquid intake because there was no time for her to orchestrate bathroom breaks.

"For me to be unzipped, to take off the microphones, go to the loo, get back up and find my way around the set and get where I need to be, it would never happen.

"Getting dressed at five-o-clock, having to sip water -- only sip --to wet your whistle because it's a long show you don't want to dry out, balancing that... I deserve a Gold Logie," she said with a laugh.

"I deserve a nappy commercial and a Gold Logie."

We honestly couldn't agree more.
