'Five Bedrooms Star' Doris Younane Once Shared A House With Richard Roxburgh
Doris Younane revealed what it was like living with 'Rake' star Richard Roxburgh back in the day.
Younane is now the star of 'Five Bedrooms' -- the new series about five friends who decide to solve all of their messy problems by splitting the cost of a five-bedroom house and revisiting the delights of share-house living.
Chatting to The Sunday Project, Younane described her time living with Roxburgh when they were both young drama students in Sydney as "interesting".
“It was during NIDA,” she began before Tommy Little interjected that the National Institute of Dramatic Arts was like “acting TAFE, right?”
Younane later tried to take back her comments a little -- perhaps anticipating a call from her old friend if she aired any of his dirty laundry from their wild student days.
"I don’t know how much I should say, I love Richard, he’s an incredible actor and I was really fortunate to have the opportunity to live with him," she said.
"I came from Western Sydney so I knew nothing about drama -- Chekhov, Brecht, Shakespeare, nothing. I hadn’t even listened to classical music, I was just this kid out in Western Sydney who wanted to be a runner," Younane added.
She went on to say that her friendship with Roxburgh introduced her to "all these things" and explained that she probably wouldn't be the actor she is now without his influence.
Which is all very lovely but we wanted to hear some messy housemate dirt, Doris! Lucky there's plenty of that on 'Five Bedrooms'.
