TV Adaptation Of Bestselling Mummy Blog Drama 'The Secrets She Keeps' Coming To 10
Production is set to commence on a new drama set in the Blue Mountains.
The six-part psychological thriller, 'The Secrets She Keeps' is an adaptation of Michael Robotham's bestselling novel of the same name.
The story follows two women, Agatha and Meghan, both from incredibly different backgrounds, each harbouring secrets that could throw both their lives into chaos.
Meghan and her husband Jack live a very charmed life, with Meghan running a super successful mommy-blog. It's a blog Agatha reads almost obsessively, between her shifts stacking shelves at a grocery shop. When Agatha learns Meghan is pregnant again, and that the pair's due dates fall around the same time, she finally musters up the courage to speak to the woman she so admires.
The TV adaptation will see the series set in NSW's Blue Mountains, with Laura Carmichael ('Downton Abbey', 'The Spanish Princess') as Agatha and Jessica De Gouw ('Riot', 'Underground') as Meghan.
Carmichael became a household name when she took up the role of Lady Edith Crawley in 'Downton Abbey', the hugely successful period drama which will be continued when a film of the same name is released later this year.
The pair are joined with a supporting cast including Michael Dorman as Jack, Ryan Corr as Jack's best friend Simon and Michael Sheasby as Agatha's partner Hayden.
"I’m excited to bring Michael Robotham’s character of ‘Agatha’ to the screen and really looking forward to working with [director] Catherine Millar, [producer] Helen Bowden and Jessica De Gouw," Carmichael said in an exclusive statement to 10 daily.
"Australia is a beautiful, inspiring country and I feel lucky to be working here over the next few weeks."
De Gouw added: "I am so delighted to be back in Sydney and to be working on this thrilling, female-led drama. Australia is creating such incredible content, and it is such a pleasure to be a part of that."
'The Secrets She Keeps' will be coming soon to Network 10 and WIN, and we can't wait to see how it all turns out.
