Anne Hathaway Cried Meeting RuPaul On 'The Late Show' And It Was Adorable

Shantay, Anne Hathaway stays.

Self-confessed 'Rupaul's Drag Race' superfan Anne Hathaway had the shock of her life during an appearance on 'The Late Show' when host Stephen Colbert surprised her by bringing Ru himself on to the show.

Hitting up the talk show to discuss her latest flick, 'The Hustle', Hathaway spoke to Colbert about her TV obsessions, and after listing 'Game of Thrones' and 'Killing Eve' as some of her faves, she added, "There is a show I watch to make me feel better, 'Drag Race'. Oh my God, I love that show so much!"

After the host told the 36-year-old that RuPaul was the next episode's guest and whether she wanted to pass on a message to him, a flustered Hathaway stammered, "Just say I love you!"

Colbert then suddenly called RuPaul onto the stage as the audience went wild. Running onto the stage, Ru's appearance shocked Hathaway into tears. "I love you so much," she told Ru as they hugged. "Thank you so much for everything."

Asking RuPaul if there's anything he wanted to say to Hathaway, Ru told the 'Oceans 8' star, "Darling, you are the winner of this week's challenge. Shantay, you stay!"

Hathaway immediately started discussing the hugely popular series with the 'Drag Race' host, explaining her love for New York drag queen Monét X Change.

"Monét X Change's entire journey and how amazing she was in season 10," she told Ru, before turning to the audience, saying, "I really take this very seriously."

"And then the growth between season 10 and season 11 -- the way she stepped her p*ssy up. She's killing it. I feel like since I've started being an actress, I've learned to step my p*ssy up. I'm just thrilled for her -- and me and you," she added through tears.

Hathaway has been vocal about stanning the reality show, naming RuPaul as a dream celebrity cameo if their version of 'Oceans 8' ever got a sequel.

“RuPaul would be so good!” Sarah Paulson told Entertainment Tonight as the pair promoted the film.

Outing Hathaway as a major fan of the show, Paulson added, “She’s really, really about ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’,” she said of Hathaway, to which her co-star replied, “It’s my show.”
