Adam Sandler Brings Back Opera Man To Sing About 'Game Of Thrones'
Opera Man made his triumphant return to 'Saturday Night Live' with some very important solos about 'Game Of Thrones', Seth Rogen and US politics.
It's been nearly 25 years since Sandler brought his iconic character to life on SNL's Weekend Update to sing about news and popular culture as if he were Luciano Pavarotti -- if Pavarotti had a Brooklyn accent.
Sandler donned a luscious black wig, vampire-like cape and swished a white handkerchief around as he gave a very 2019 update from Opera Man, starting with his take on the final season of 'Game of Thrones'.
"Game of Thrones -ah/ almost finito/ Molto exciting/Edge of my seat-o!" sang Sandler.
"We can't wait for final-show-ah/So we can cancel our HBO-ah."
Sandler also gave us some beautiful operatic solos on the Kentucky Derby, basketballer James Harden's very gnarly on-court eye injury, and the candidates who have thrown their hat in the ring for the US presidential election.
He also dragged Seth Rogen's new rom-com -- 'Long Shot' -- for supposedly plagiarising some of his own comedies like '50 First Dates' and 'Just Go With It', although Rogen was chuffed to get a shout-out from Opera Man.
Sandler hosted 'Saturday Night Live' -- along with musical guest Shawn Mendes -- for the first time ever this weekend, bringing back SNL alumni Jimmy Fallon and Kristen Wiig to help out with a hilarious family reunion sketch.
The hosting gig comes 24 years after Sandler was reportedly fired from the show by NBC, which he also sang about this evening in another catchy tune, executed in true Sandler style.
