Shannen Doherty Joins Cast Of New 'Beverly Hills 90210' Series
The actress reconsidered her involvement in the show after the death of her former on-screen love Luke Perry.
Shannen Doherty has officially signed onto BH90210, an anticipated six-episode series that will also feature her co-stars from the iconic 1990s show.
Doherty joins fellow Beverly Hills, 90210 cast members Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling.
BH902010 is expected to pay tribute to the late Luke Perry, whose death last month reportedly lead Doherty to agree to star in the new series.

“Luke was Shannen’s favorite in the cast. She may participate if they pay homage to him,” a friend of the actress told US Weekly after Perry passed.
Doherty announced her involvement in BH90210 via her Instagram account, where she poked fun at the beloved cast's 1990s fashion.
Doherty will executive produce the series alongside her co-stars and the creators of the 90210 reboot, Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini.
Unlike the first reboot, the new series' cast "will play heightened versions of themselves", Tori Spelling told Daily Pop on E! earlier this year.
Fox described the series as a "brand-new serialised drama -- with a healthy dose of irreverence -- inspired by [the stars] real lives and relationships."
Doherty played Brenda Walsh for four seasons of Beverly Hills, 90210.
The original teen drama -- created by Darren Star and produced by the late Aaron Spelling -- ran for 10 seasons, from October 1990 till May 2000.
By its fourth season (1993-1994), over 20 million Americans watched the show each week.
BH90210 is set to air in Australia during the winter season.
