Luke Perry's Final Riverdale Episode To Air This Week

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed that the upcoming episode of 'Riverdale' be the last time that Luke Perry appears as Fred Andrews on the show.

The news comes two months after Perry passed away at the age of 52.

Perry played Archie Andrews’ dad Fred in the popular series right up until his death on March 4, at the age of 52 following a sudden stroke.

Since the actor's untimely death, every episode of Riverdale has been dedicated to the late actor.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre Sacasa revealed that the upcoming episode this week will feature the final scenes Luke acted in. Speaking to his Twitter followers, he said: "This week’s #Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed. As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son. Wish these scenes could go on forever…"

The Riverdale team also confirmed that they will be addressing the star's death on screen, but as of mid-March were still figuring out to approach the situation.

Upon Aguirre Sacasa's revelation, fans were emotional, with many saying they found comfort in seeing the star on-screen following his shock passing.

Season three of Riverdale is set to wrap up on with a May 15 finale.
