MasterChef Is Back With Your Fave Celeb Chefs This Season

A delicious new series of MasterChef Australia is just around the corner.

The 11th season of the cooking competition is set to air on Monday, April 29 at 7.30pm and our freshest bunch of amateur cooks are already gearing up to impress Matt Preston, George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan.

Only 24 contestants will be given the honour of wearing a white apron and the chance to make their culinary dreams a reality -- a feat that's only gotten trickier as the standard of baking, boiling and blending raises higher every year.

The home cooks hail from right around the country and will get to test out their signature dishes -- and brand new flavour inventions -- in front of some pretty esteemed guest judges.

Our two dozen hopeful chefs will be mentored by MasterChef alumni who have gone on to live out their wildest foodie dreams, including Poh Ling Yeow, Matt Sinclair and Billie McKay.

And they'll also learn a thing or two from cooking superstars including Nigella Lawson (back for the fourth time!) Yotam Ottolenghi, Rick Stein, and Clare Smyth.

Curtis Stone will pop over from Los Angeles for a Keeping Up With Curtis challenge and our beloved Maggie Beer will host a segment from the very iconic location of Hanging Rock in Victoria.

Nigella will also feature as a guest of honour at Melbourne's State Library (cooks and books!) as the contestants put together a black-tie dinner menu.

And we'll see our amateur chefs spend a week in Queensland with challenges in the sunny state's best restaurants -- plus a surf club cook-off.

So far we've met Jess, Sandeep, Tim and Kyle who are jostling for a spot in the top 24 -- but you can tune in on Monday, April 29 to find out who makes the cut.
