The First Trailer For 'Big Little Lies' Season Two Is Here

We also have an official premiere date.

'Big Little Lies' is finally heading back to our screens on June 9 with one very notable addition to the cast -- Meryl Streep!

Joining the all-star cast that includes Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz and Nicole Kidman, Streep will be taking on the role of Mary Louise Wright, who has come to Monterey to find answers about the death of her son (played by Alexander Skarsgård in season one).

“My son is dead,” Streep's character announced in the trailer. “I want to know what happened that night. I’m very tempted to ask you, but I don’t think I would get the truth, would I?”

The show was initially intended to be a mini-series with just one season based on the novel by Liane Moriarty, but was expanded beyond the novel with a second series after receiving a plethora of awards, including multiple Emmys, Golden Globes, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Season two is set to be directed by Andrea Arnold, who will be taking over for Jean-Marc Vallée.
