Bachelor In Paradise 2019: Paddy And Bill Go Head To Head

“You cannot take this Bill and Paddy fight seriously, they’re wearing the same shorts! They’re like, Bananas in Pyjamas! It’s absolutely ridiculous.”

This was the astute observation of Alisha, as Paddy and Nathan got into a confrontation with Bill.

After Paddy heard from Charlie Newling -- who also appeared on Ali Oetjen’s season of The Bachelorette -- that Bill was messaging Megan Marx and other former contestants in an attempt to form “alliances” ahead of his arrival in Paradise.

“Apparently Bill was trying to tee up an alliance with girls, so he could come in and take it all the way,” Paddy told Nathan. “I know he’s been talking to a few, Charlie told me. He was talking to one of your mates, Megan, to see if she was coming in.”

Distrusting the way he “plays the field” both in and out of the world of The Bachelor, Nathan and Paddy were annoyed that Bill’s potential alliances could see either of them lose out on a rose due to a fake connection.

Quickly, the lads decided that it was time to confront Bill about these rumours, and Bill was less than thrilled about it.

“Chat’s on, bruz,” said Paddy as he approached Bill with Nathan.

“I don’t wanna have a chat with you,” replied Bill. “I’m not getting involved in nothing.”

After Paddy relayed the information fed to him by Charlie -- who was Bill’s nemesis on The Bachelorette -- Bill denied that he was trying to find out whether Megan would be joining them in Paradise or not.

“She actually messaged me, and we had a chat, and that was the end of it,” said Bill. “What’s the big deal?”

Calling Charlie’s version of events bulls**t, Bill said in an interview that he was “sick of dealing with that prick”.

Arguing over whether talking to Megan was a breach of confidentiality and their Bachelor contracts, Bill became frustrated.

“There’s no one here that I’ve built a connection with, you f**king moron!” he snapped, as Paddy said that it was going to “jeopardise [his] chances at finding love”.

“Shut up!” Bill said, shaking his head.

“No, you shut up!” replied Paddy, adding “How do I know that you haven’t spoken to any of them?”

“F**king go and ask them, you moron!” Bill responded, pointing out that even if he did message Megan, she wasn’t in Paradise, and therefore it wasn’t a big deal.

Things went on like this for awhile, as Bill accused Paddy of being “like a brick wall” to talk to, and Paddy accused Bill of “deflecting” all of Paddy’s concerns, until finally, Bill accused Paddy of being “untrustworthy” and “telling people what they want to hear”, which prompted Paddy to storm off.

“Least mature dude I’ve ever met in my life,” Bill said, laughing as he added to Nathan, who’d been mostly silent throughout the confrontation. “This should be fun.”

Will there be a round two between Paddy and Bill? Only time will tell.
