Dancing With The Stars 2019: Curtly Ambrose Is The Latest Celeb To Be Eliminated

The cricketing legend was sadly the latest star to be bowled out of the competition.

Sir Curtly Ambrose and his dance partner Siobhan were forced into a dance-off with Jimmy Rees and Alex after Jett Kenny, Constance Hall, and Samuel Johnson were declared to be safe for another week.

Both couples in the bottom two danced their hearts out to Walk The Moon's "Shut Up And Dance" with a cha-cha but ultimately, judges Craig Revel Horwood and Sharna Burgess opted to save Jimmy and Alex.

"For me, based off this cha-cha alone... the couple with the best technique," said Sharna, "was Jimmy and Alex".

Realising their fate, Curtly and Siobhan hugged it out at the end of their Dancing journey as Amanda Keller farewelled the memorable pair.

"The two of you are much loved, your face lights up the dance floor," she said of Curtly -- who was often being told by the judges to tone down his smile for the more serious dances.

The 6’7” cricketer handled some very difficult dances during his time on the stage, kicking things off with a Viennese Waltz in week one, a Samba the next week, Paso Doble, and a Cha Cha in week four.

"I know your wife Bridget wants you to teach her to dance," said Keller, asking if Curtly would promise to start up some lessons when he got home.

"I won't make any promises, but we'll see what happens!" laughed Ambrose.

Dancing With The Stars airs 7.30 Monday on 10 and 10 play.
