Stranger Things 3 Drops First Full Trailer With Teen Angst And New Monsters
It's been a long time coming, but Stranger Things is finally -- almost -- back.
The Netflix love letter to all things 80s is coming back July 4, and as promised there's an all-out American summer vibe to it: fairgrounds, shopping malls, and a heavy dose of almost-teenage angst.
The kids are growing up, dammit.
In this new, pre-teen world: Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Max (Sadie Sink) are hanging out, Will (Noah Schnapp) is upset his friends are leaving childhood without him, and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Steve (Joe Keery) continue their perfect friendship. Also, Steve is a lifeguard now. SOMEONE's been reading my dream journal.
We also get a glimpse of a new, distinctly other-worldly monster. It's not season one's Demogorgon, and not season two's Mind Flayer, but since both of those monsters came from Dungeons and Dragons, we can reasonably guess this one will, too.
IGN's resident D&D nerd reckons it might be a Tarrasque, "a giant lizard with lots of spikes and a gaping maw of teeth". What can it do? Probably eat you. Also something with electricity.
Stranger Things 3 returns July 4, which is plenty of time for a leisurely rewatch. Get around it.
