Dancing With The Stars 2019: Michelle Bridges Opens Up About Assault
CONTENT WARNING: This article discusses sexual assault.
Michelle Bridges has opened up about a harrowing experience of being assaulted at age 18.
Revealing she would be dancing the Pasodoble to the song 'Survivor', fitness icon Michelle opened up to dance partner, Aric, about her very own 'survivor' experience.
"When I was 18 I survived an assault," she revealed.
"It was something that happened a long time ago. I went looking for a job at this particular restaurant, and this guy came out and said he was the manager so I gave him all of my details, and it went downhill very quickly from there."
"He locked the door during the interview, then decided to assault me. It was all of my worst nightmares," she said.
"I fought like I've never fought before in my entire life. I escaped before it got extremely bad, so to speak."
"I put him in prison."
Partner Aric expressed shock over the star's revelation, but also said the Pasodoble is all about "showing strength" -- something he said Michelle "no doubt" has.
Michelle added: "This week's Pasodoble is a battle, a battle of choosing to not let that experience define the rest of your life."
In tonight's performance, Michelle again impressed viewers at home as well as our trio of judges, who awarded her an impressive 21 out of 30 and shooting her towards the top of the leaderboard.
