Sunday Night Takeaway: Five Fast Facts About 'Bold And The Beautiful' Star Ronn Moss
He’s bold, he’s beautiful, and he’s set to smoulder on Sunday Night Takeaway as this week's celebrity announcer.
The Bold and The Beautiful legend Ronn Moss will swap the guitar for the microphone as he hits the stage alongside hosts Dr. Chris Brown and Julia Morris, as a guest announcer on this week's episode of Sunday Night Takeaway.
If you're not familiar with the 67-year-old actor, here are five fast facts to learn about the longtime soap star ahead of his appearance on Sunday Night Takeaway.
He Played Ridge Forrester On 'The Bold And The Beautiful'
Moss was part of The Bold and the Beautiful's original cast members, playing Ridge Forrester for 25 years from the show's beginnings in 1987 until 2012, when he left the longtime soap.
Shortly after his exit, his character was replaced by actor Thorsten Kaye -- a move that Moss wasn't happy about.
"The only thing I wish had happened is that they’d just let my character be, rather than re-cast with a new actor who didn’t have the history," he told WHO.
"I wish they’d given the new actor a different role that he could sink himself into and make his own, rather than trying to take over the character that I played for 25 years," he added.
A Car Accident Lead Him To Quit 'The Bold and the Beautiful'
"I pretty much left Bold and the Beautiful because I felt I couldn't continue to do it,'' he told The Canberra Times.
"I was in a pretty bad car accident which really debilitated my ability to keep going with that show. I think I'll probably talk about this when I come there for my shows because people keep asking and they don't really know the real reason.''
He continued, "I kind of stayed mum about it because there was a legal aspect to it and the insurance. And I'm not one to complain, that's my problem. If I'd been one of the fricking complainers, then everyone would know, 'Oh, no, I was in an accident'."
"I just kept that to myself because I didn't want to seem so much of a whinger. Is that an English term or is that an Australian term?"
He's In The Band Player
Player had a worldwide hit with Baby Come Back in 1978, and these days Moss continues to write, perform and tour. Recently, Moss won a legal battle against former bandmate, Peter Beckett, claiming he had been "lied to."
"I am happy that the trademark battle for #PLAYER has been settled," he said in a tweet following the court case.
"A press release is coming soon and I will form my own band to tour in the states as Ronn Moss’ PLAYER which will include John Walsh aka #JawnStar and Jimmy Carnelli with a couple added surprises coming for 2019."
He Was a Contestant on Italy's Dancing With The Stars
Moss hit the dancefloor back in 2010 when he appeared on the Italian version of the reality series, Ballando con le Stelle.
he survived six weeks of competition, taking on styles including the Tango, Paso Doble, and Salsa. He finished in second place with his partner Sara Di Vaira.
He's Currently Touring in Australia
Moss is currently touring around Australia throughout march for his 'SONGS & STORIES WITH RONN MOSS' tour, which is said to be "an evening of great songs and stories."
The actor and muso will be doing a whopping 10 shows across NSW -- including Dee Why RSL and Rooty Hill RSL -- as well as hitting up ACT, WA and VIC for single shows.
