I'm A Celebrity 2019: Angie Kent And Luke Jacobz Leave The Jungle

In the last elimination ahead of the finale on Sunday, we said goodbye to both Angie and Luke.

Angie Kent was an explosion of joy and a constant source for the most side-splittingly ridiculous quotes.

From cheese grating her nipples to freezing her “nonnie” off, the newly minted “Meme Girl” was an absolute golden addition to the camp this year.

Angie made some close friendships during her time in the camp, bonding with Richard Reid over their relationships with their parents, and discussed matters of the heart many times.

Speaking of, the will-they, won’t-they, oh-they-definitely-won’t relationship between Angie and Justin was also one of the most entertaining of the year. From rumblings of a jungle romance to Angie and Justin butting heads and headbands, it was an emotional few weeks to say the least.

Angie was also treated to a very unique birthday, spending it in the jungle with her campmates. A day full of surprises that kicked off with a picnic and puppies, it’ll be a birthday to remember that’s for sure.

Alongside her Gogglebox co-star Yvie Jones, Angie was a shining star in this year’s roster of celebs as she made us laugh even during some very tough trials. Despite having a spew while suspended over a dam, she was able to Drop and Pop her way to getting the camp an hour of power.

She proved that she has guts of iron during the Kindy Surprise challenge where she, Yvie and Luke Jacobz scored a full set of stars, throwing down whatever tasty treats Dr Chris Brown and Lady Julia served them.

Speaking of Luke, the bright beam of optimism was also sent packing alongside Angie.

Luke’s time in the jungle can probably be best summed up with two things: breakfast and bright pink socks.

Every morning Luke would head up to the Tok Tokkie and order the most elaborate breakfasts -- knowing that he’d be returning to camp to have a mug full of plain oats. Still, ever the entertainer, Luke would spend sometimes more than 10 minutes ordering the most specific, ridiculous breakfasts just as a means of entertaining himself… and us, of course.

But it wasn’t all fun for Luke, who revealed early on that the big reason he was heading into the jungle was to raise money, awareness and as a tribute to his father John Ashwood, who died from brain cancer in 2015.

His chosen charity, Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, wasn’t the only tribute to his dad during his time in the jungle, picking bright pink socks as his luxury item.

Growing up, Luke’s brother would always steal their dad’s work socks, eventually, John began wearing bright pink socks to work knowing no one would pinch them.

“My dad used to wear pink socks to work, so I’m wearing pink socks in the jungle so every day I have a reminder that I’m doing it for him,” Luke told 10 daily.

During his time in the camp, Luke bonded with several of the campmates about the awful difficulties of losing a parent. Speaking with Tahir Bilgic about the loss of his father, and Yvie Jones about spending the final moments with her mum, Luke was always there, ready to listen and lend his support.

Luke also had a few incredible stories about his time around Hollywood -- like the time Lindsay Lohan picked him up off the street and invited him back to his hotel room.

But Luke wasn’t just a good chat, in fact he had some incredible moments (and screams) through some tucker trials including helping Yvie break the world record for longest time spent in the Viper Room, shooting hoops on a cliff in Basketfall, and participating in the electrifying Shocking Shopping where his screams were only matched by our howls of enjoyment.

With just three celebs remaining, it’s only a few days until we crown our king or queen of the jungle.

The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! finale airs Sunday, February 17 at 7.30 on 10 and 10 Play.
