I'm A Celebrity 2019: Ajay Rochester First To Leave The Jungle
The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! superfan was the first of our celebs to leave the camp this year.
Former Biggest Loser host Ajay told 10 daily before heading into the jungle that it was a dream come true for her -- after unsuccessfully offering herself as a contestant to the UK version of the series.
One of our most outspoken celebs, Ajay was brutally honest in sharing some of her most personal truths as soon as she set foot in camp.
From her feuds with her former Biggest Loser co-star Michelle Bridges to the heartbreaking search for her birth mother, Ajay easily bonded with her fellow celebs by showing her resilience.
“She gets knocked down and she just gets back up again,” Yvie Jones said about Ajay. While Ajay was initially put off by Angie and Yvie’s Gogglebox-style roasting of the other celebs, she and Yvie quickly bonded over the struggles of being overweight in media, and the pressures of society in general.
It’s a sad day to see Ajay heading out of the jungle so soon. When 10 daily caught up with her prior to her I’m A Celeb journey she told us, “There are only two ways that you’re going to be able to get me out of there.”
“Either you're going to have to drag me out by the heels or I’ll come out with a crown on my head,” she said, “I’m not leaving. No.”
Ajay’s time in the jungle was in support of 4 ASD Kids. Founded by Chloe Maxwell and Mat Rogers, 4 ASD Kids is a charity that raises funds to support children and their families dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Ajay’s son Kai has Asperger's and she told 10 daily having access to early intervention can be “life-changing”. “Not just for the kids but for the parents,” she said, “I’m so strongly for it and I think it’s a great charity.”
