A Bachelor Contestant Just Lied About Being Aussie With This Glorious Accent

In an extremely short-sighted move, a contestant on 'The Bachelor' US has decided to pretend to be Australian.

The 23rd season of The Bachelor begins next week in the US, and the reality dating show has been introducing a few of the contestants on Twitter -- including 24-year-old model, Bri.

In the clip, Bri confidently introduces herself to Bachelor Colton Underwood (which is definitely the name of a country music singer) in what can only be described as a South African/Kiwi/Austrian hybrid dialect.

"You've got a nice accent," says poor, sweet Underwood. "Where are you from?"

"Um, the accent?" replies Bri pointing ever so innocently at her mouth. "It's Australian. I was hoping that you'd be a sucker for accents".

"I didn't know what you'd think about it," she adds, seemingly pleased her shonky voice work has paid off... for now.

In the very dark piece to camera that follows, Bri lets us in on a little secret, revealing her Streepian talent for accents.

"I'm not really Australian," she says. "But you have to do what you can to stand out."

Bri's bio on the Bach website tells us that she's a model from SoCal and is "much more than a pretty face".

"She played soccer for eight years, enjoys hiking and camping and loves to hit the snowboard slopes. Her biggest dating fear? Farting too loudly. (Don't worry Bri, we won't tell Colton)" the site reads.

Farting is the least of this girl's worries. Her biggest dating fear should probably be that Crocodile Dundee accent and her penchant for LIES.

That, and the fact she's going to struggle to nail that gorgeous accent every single day in the Bach mansion.
