Move Over Roseanne, The Conners Are Coming To 10
First there was the series, then the reboot, now get ready for the spin-off.
Soon after the cancellation of the Roseanne reboot, fans pleaded for a spin-off, one that focused on the rest of the Conner family without their mouthy matriarch.
Well, their wishes were granted with the announcement of The Conners which saw the original cast and characters -- Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky and DJ -- in the wake of Roseanne's death.
It was announced in October that the show had decided to set the series in the wake of the character Roseanne's death, with the opening scene of the first episode to feature the family gathered in the kitchen mourning her.
Following the original star's controversial tweet, the network in the US decided to pull the series, affecting the jobs of the cast and crew. They later came to an agreement with Roseanne Barr to create the spin-off, but she has no ongoing involvement in The Conners.
She has since voiced dissatisfaction in how her character was killed off, while admitting in an interview, "There’s nothing I can do about it. It’s done. It’s over," but in a now-deleted tweet she took another stance.
The series will follow the Conners as they face the daily struggles of life, parenthood, unexpected pregnancies, aging and in-laws in working-class America.
The series is set to launch on 10 on Thursday, November 22 with a jumbo double-episode extravaganza.
