Will And Grace Cast Chat Pre-Show Rituals

The ‘Will And Grace’ reboot is back for a second season and the cast has revealed just what they get up to as they prepare to tape an episode.

Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes appeared on Ellen and explained that they psych themselves up in a very specific way -- by dancing provocatively.

“We kind of do what you do,” McCormack told DeGeneres.

“As soon as we meet [the audience], we just start dancing,” he added.

Messing then clarified that the dancing usually escalates to the castmates “gyrating all over each other and feeling each other’s bodies”.

“When they cast this show, they cast four humpers,” said Mullally as footage of the ritual was shown on a screen.

“All we do is hump each other.”

The Will And Grace cast also say a little prayer together before each show, a ritual that goes all the way back to when they shot the show’s pilot in 1998.

“It’s very theatre-like because we all have a theatre background,” said Hayes.

“And we still do it every single show,” he said.

While the cast remained tight-lipped about what they pray for, McCormack joked they chant, “Please God, let us be funny!”

The new season of Will And Grace premieres on Stan this Friday, October 5.

Sydney fans of the show can watch back-to-back episodes at The Imperial Hotel in Erskineville, which will be transformed into ‘Karen’s Martini Bar’ this weekend.

The menu will feature NYC-inspired treats like hot dogs and pepperoni pizzas, as well as Will And Grace themed cocktails.

You can pop along to Karen’s Martini Bar on Friday between 5-8pm and then Friday and Saturday between 12pm-8pm.
