That Plain White T's Song 'Hey There Delilah' Is Being Turned Into A TV Show For Some Reason

What???????????? Wha??? WHy?????

Remember that song every dude with an acoustic guitar would play, "Hey There Delilah"? It was super catchy until it berated you into caring about Delilah's sojourn to New York City, outshining Time's Square like a puddle of tourist urine reflecting the shining lights of a GAP billboard.

Well according to The Hollywood Reporter the song is being turned into a scripted TV series!!!!!!! For some reason!!!!!

The series, described as a "romantic dramedy", will apparently follow a long-distance relationship and was compared to a "contemporary fairy tale".

The song, which was released over a decade ago in 2006, tells the story of some girl named Delilah studying in New York and her musician boyfriend who some day hopes to make it big by playing his guitar.

The song was huuuugely popular, hitting number one on the billboard charts, it found similar success in Australia and actually went Platinum on the ARIA chart and with a thrilling chorus of "Oh, it's what you do to me (repeat x four)" how could it not?

The Plain White T's frontman and songwriter Tom Higgenson came up with the concept of the show saying he was, "so excited to have an opportunity to give a new generation the chance to form their own connection with the song, and fall in love with its story through this new project".

Meanwhile production company Lively McCabe Entertainment's co-president Michael Barra called the song a "perfect example of an iconic story song that has introduced characters and a premise to a massive multigenerational audience".

You know, those iconic characters like "Delilah" and "school in New York City". Can't wait to definitely tune into this show when it's inevitably made!!!
